Dear Parent/ Guardian:
Please be advised that state testing will be administered to our students on April 2-3, 2025 for the New Mexico Assessment of Science Readiness (NMASR) and on April 8, 2025 for the SAT School Day (SAT SD). These assessments are valuable opportunities for our students to demonstrate their learning and progress. Here’s what you need to know:
NM-ASR – This is a state-mandated test that measures science proficiency and is administered in grades 5, 8, and 11.
SAT School Day – High school juniors will take the SAT during the school day, which provides a convenient way to complete this college entrance exam without having to schedule it on a weekend.
To help your child do their best:
Student attendance is critical. Please plan around the test dates to avoid absences and appointments that would require students to miss a test session. If your child has an appointment during testing days, please let us know in advance so we would not have that child start the test.
Encourage a good night’s sleep before the test. Sleep is a key factor in student success, and many teachers report that students who do not get good night sleep perform lower on tests.
Provide a healthy breakfast on test day. A healthy breakfast will keep your child full and provide the energy he/she needs to take the test. Free breakfast for students will be served daily at school at 7:30 AM.
Students must be in the testing room by 8:00 AM. Testing will begin promptly.
Cellphones or any electronic devices are not allowed in the testing room. Students with cellphones will be asked to put them in their backpacks. Any electronic devices not presented to the test administrator for safe keeping prior to testing will be confiscated and must be reported to the STC/Principal/District Test Coordinator as testing irregularity and security breach.
Offer words of encouragement to help reduce test anxiety.
Thank you for your cooperation.
