On Friday, April 4th, 2025. One of our very own GMCS students Charles Haswood, was recognized by the Department of Dine Education, Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren, Dr. Andy Nez of the 25th Navajo Nation Council at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino and Resort. Our very own Gallup High School Bengal stood by other high school seniors from different areas and schools within New Mexico and Arizona. In total 22 students were recognized and were gifted Pendleton blankets as part of their award. Charles represented Gallup High School and GMCS with honor and pride. The event included words of encouragement for all recognized students, traditional songs to help them on their journey after graduation, and individual student speeches. This incredible moment is a reminder that we are continuing to learn and speak the Navajo language. Outstanding job to our Gallup High School student Charles Haswood!
